Israel and Agri, Food & (SMART) Technology

Israel is well-known for its strong agriculture and agricultural technology sector. It grew by working swampy as well as arid areas. Specialist skills that resulted from this are often complementary to Dutch core competences. This also holds for the development of solutions for Third Countries. Developments in Israel can be found in the field of genetics, sensing, robotics, use of drones, irrigation, waste-to-energy solutions, big-data applications (amongst others for open and closed cultivation and greenhouses), post-harvest handling, processing of (sub)tropical fruits and crops, prolonging the shelflive (freshness) of vegetables and fruits, new packaging techniques, meat & feed, dairy etc.

Interesting players in the ‘Startup Nation’, as Israel is called, are amongst others (high-tech) startups and research institutions. This mission will introduce you to them. The Fair and Conference also expect many visitors from the Palestinian Authority, China, India and Afrikan countries.
